On 1 January, Libor Lochman took office as new Executive Director of the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER).
Libor Lochman, born in 1963 in Czechoslovakia, graduated from the University of Transport in Zilina and has a doctorate in electronics from the University of West-Bohemia in Plzen. He has a strong background in control-command and signalling systems. Prior to his role as CER Deputy Executive Director and leader of technical affairs (2007-2011), he acted as director of the Railway Test Centre, a facility for testing European rolling stock, infrastructure and signalling components, in Prague (2000-2005).
The CER General Assembly unanimously elected Libor Lochman to head CER on 12 September in Bonn (Germany). He succeeds Johannes Ludewig who retired at the end of last year. The UIC headquarters team expresses its most sincere congratulations and very best wishes to Libor Lochman on his new responsibilities.
