It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 3rd UIC Asia-Pacific Workshop on Control Command and Signalling (CCS) Development Technologies which will take place in Tokyo, hosted by JR East, from 22 to 23 October 2014.

It has almost been five years since the very successful previous workshop in Chengdu, China, at South-West Jiaotong University.

Despite the long period, the objectives and the scopes of the workshop remain stable and of current importance.

The project baseline of the Control Command and Signalling Development Technologies was initiated, established and approved at the UIC Asia Regional Assembly in December 2007. The Control Command and Signalling Development Technologies workshop is an integrated part of the UIC action plan to achieve a Global Traffic Management and Control Command and Signalling development strategy.

The workshops shall provide the basis for core system requirements common to world railways and pave the way to using leading technologies.
It is intended that the workshop will conclude on the vision of a globally justifiable
and future-oriented baseline for the railway signalling when supporting innovative
ideas, use of leading technologies and strongly supporting the common position
to face new challenges, potential threats and rapid changes of technologies and development methods.

We look forward to welcoming you in Tokyo from 22 to 23 October 2014.
