The Railway Talents project, a UIC initiative, aims to redefine talent development and training in the global rail industry by setting up a management development programme, fostering international cooperation and promoting rail careers. Please discover below the latest initiatives heading towards our aim to create “a better and more sustainable future for the railways.”

Mentoring programme

With the mentoring scheme, we aim at setting up a programme to attract and retain Talents in rail that goes beyond national standards in education and training. Talent Ambassadors set the goal of developing a (virtual) international mentorship within the Talent network to foster success in rail careers.

In order to help them, we are seeking information about the types of mentoring programmes currently on offer in companies that may be in place for various groups of rail employees in different types of job functions. We would also like to know whether there are employees who would like to participate in the UIC TALENT Mentoring programme as a mentor or mentee.

Our survey will take no more than 15 minutes to complete and will be open until 20 December 2016, with the results available in February 2017.

E-learning

We are also developing a tailored training programme of rail eCourses for UIC members and other stakeholders.

In order to efficiently organise this initiative, the UIC Expertise Development Unit would like to invite you to share your opinions on the possible forms and content of e-Courses that would be of interest for the rail community.

This survey should take you no longer than 20 minutes and would contribute a great deal!
