Opening session

The 13th UIC Security Congress will be opened on the 30th November at 9:00 by Ronald Pofalla (Member of the Management Board for Infrastructure of the Deutsche Bahn AG), n. n. (Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure), Jerzy Wisniewski (Director of UIC Fundamental Values Department) and Sandra Géhénot (Director of UIC Freight Department)

Technical sessions

  • The first technical session on the 30th November from 11:00 to 12:30 will focus on threats and concerns against freight. Speakers from different railway companies will give an overview about the challenges, modus operandis, the affected areas and vulnerabilities.
    Speakers are inter alia: Gerd Kowanz (DB Cargo AG), Dora Mezek Kukec (Slovenske železnice, d.o.o.), Maarten Gutt (PKP PLK S.A.)
  • The second technical session on the 30th November from 14:00 to 15:30 will focus on answers along the logistic chain regarding to the introduced challenges. Speakers from different transport sectors will give an overview about several solutions and their experiences.
    Speakers are inter alia: Dr. Markus Ksoll (Deutsche Bahn AG), Sergey Medvedev (FSE SRT of Russia), Ingo Hellwig-Delaminsky (DB Schenker AG)
  • The cooperation with third parties is fundamental to increase the security of rail freight. Therefore, the third technical session on the 30th November from 16:00 to 17:30 deals with the responsibility and contribution of different actors to work together to make rail freight more secure.
    Speakers are inter alia: Franz-Xaver Vogl (Federal police department), Bert Westland (RAILPOL), Vyara Filipova (World Customs Organisation)
  • In addition to the collaboration with third parties it is also necessary to exchange information in a secure way as well as to take into account of the results of research projects. The speakers within the fourth technical session on the 1st December from 9:00 to 10:30 will present legal aspects of data exchange, the security hub, a terrorist attacks database as well as possibilities for intelligent wagons.
    Speakers are inter alia: Laurent Maurice (Emis Conseil), Bruno de Rosa (UIC Security Division), Patrick Mantell (UIC Freight Department), Klaus-Uwe Sondermann (European Terminal Interest Group)

Conclusion session

The 13th UIC Security Congress will be concluded on the 1st December from 11:00 to 12:00 by Sandra Géhénot (Director of UIC Freight Department), Marc Beaulieu (Via Rail Canada - Vice chairman of the UIC security platform) and Gerd Neubeck (Deutsche Bahn AG - Chairman of the UIC security platform)
